Dr. Katharina Joosen
Position: Postdoc researcher
Background and research interests:Katharina Joosen graduated in Clinical and Health Psychology at Utrecht University in November 2005. She wrote her master thesis (‘Homesickness: Exploring vulnerabilities and coping strategies’) at the University of Gloucestershire (U.K.). She also completed a clinical internship as junior psychologist at the ‘Early Intervention Service for Psychosis’ in Norwich (U.K.). In September 2006 she started as a PhD student at the Centre for Child and Family Studies of Leiden University, and studied early behavioral and physiological indicators of harsh discipline in a group of lower educated mothers. In February 2012 she started working at the NSCR as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the project ‘Gendered pathways into prison’.
